The United States, along with other governmental bodies, have colluded to destroy art and culture because of its great power. Our government fears art in all its forms, as art begets culture, while the government’s wish is to enable a lying anti-culture to kill art. This has been systematically carried out over decades, and has become a critical issue, now that creatives in our current Depression are desperate for ways to make a living, or share their work in any available public forum. As this is not an effective or sustainable strategy for human existence – art is inherent to the human experience - artists and creatives themselves must speak out to organize against it. The seeds of artistic revolution, a sister to the other revolutions that are overturning moribund ideas of a discriminatory society, are being sown – right here, right now!

The time of Revolution is upon us.  The repercussions of the failure of the democratic process and the failure of the arts to be recognized as the defining element of the culture of the United States are felt globally as well as nationally. It is our responsibility as artists and as an arts community to take action.  The time of change is now.

We are tired of living in the fear that our governments and media have carefully constructed to control us.  We are tired of the media, commerce, and the cult of celebrity defining what is artistically viable. We resolve let go of fear in order to progress global consciousness.  The fact of being an artist in this society is inherently a revolutionary one. We maintain that in a civilized society, art and culture should inform government; government should not inform and control art and culture.

The Revolution will join artists and persons in the arts community into a movement for the purpose of mutual artistic action.  Artistic events (exhibitions, readings, screenings, etc.) will promote and enact positive change. We will come together for the purpose of artistic unification, working toward the de-marginalization of artists, and political action toward global freedom and celebration without war.

These points define the Revolutionary values:

  • The Revolution will promote artistic and political freedom, social inclusion, and an end to personal, racial, sexual, political, and any other oppression through our events and activities, as well as through individuals demonstrating these principles in their daily lives.

  • The Revolution is inclusive.  It will take a position of non-violence, envisioning global peace and a promotion of aesthetics, but it will not be dogmatic in its approach.

  • Discussion of politics, political systems, philosophy, and theology will be encouraged, but no one position on any of these will be taken.

  • The Revolution promotes real freedom in which individuals choose what they believe to be right.  The only requirement is that the individual actively tries to live according to her or his personal ethics, and actively tries to take care of her/his self, and demonstrates respect for her/his self and all others.

Participants in the Revolution understand that we must discover additional means in which to enact political and artistic change.  Our culture will no longer be able to hide from our messages and the actions we have taken to express them.

We are disgusted when the United States government and the Executive Office enacts oppressions and atrocities in the name of what is Constitutionally described as our inalienable freedom.  It has become our responsibility to make cultural changes from within the United States that challenge the negative notions of our culture and government.

As well as artistic freedom, expression, and the ability to criticize government systems that are not healthy, the Revolution promotes listening, open communication, and tenderness between people.  We will no longer stand for fear coming between human relations. We will celebrate life and encourage affection.

We will no longer stand for our governments promoting the means of its destruction through warmongering and environmental damage.  Without global unity we will continue to experience accelerated planetary destruction. Those involved in the Revolution try to love life and enjoy the short time that we are here on Earth.

Join us in Revolution!
